On Thursday, I had passed my APICS CSCP Examination in first attempt so I thought to share my experience for all of those whom are planning to appear in CSCP Exam.

1- Coaching Vs Self Study:

This was the first question which came to my mind. Its purely depend upon individual to individual. If you already had some Supply Chain experience like S&OP Planning or logistics Planning etc then I will strongly advise you to go for self study otherwise you can opt for classes. You can buy used APICS Text books from someone. I have seen some add on ebay.com where someone was selling APICS text book at a cheaper price but the only issue is that you will not get access to online learning system and I will not recommend at all to appear in CSCP Examination without having practice from online learning system. 3-Study Material & Practice questions.

The first step you need to do is to log in CSCP Learning system & assess you current knowledge by clicking Pretest Button. After completing Pre Test Examination click Smart Study Tool and an excel file based on your pretest result will be downloaded and will contain study plan. I am a family man so for me its really difficult to get time for study each day so I planned to study short chapters on normal days while long chapters on weekend. 5- Revision.

Since you already have studied everything so now it’s time to focus on important points which you had already highlighted with highlighters and then appear for practice questions again and view your result report. If you had score higher than previous report then it means you got improvement otherwise you need to go through the topic again.

APICS has recommended different reference books but to be very honest I didn't have time to read those so I had focus on APICS Study material only.

Try to arrive atleast half an hour early before your schedule time. Be confident & try to focus on questions. You will have around 04 hours to answer 175 questions and to be honest its really very sufficient time so don’t rush at all. Read the question carefully before picking the right answer. The best way to find a right answer is to remove wrong answers first and then select the best in remaining one's. In case if you are not sure about right answer then click the” flag review” button on top right corner so you will have time at the end of the Exam to review those questions.

8- Practice Exam before real Exam?

If you want to know how real exams will be look like then click 'Practice Exam' button on CSCP Learning System. A new set of 50 MCQs will appear. I was really scared when I found a low score on these new questions but to be honest I found these questions more difficult than realy exam :)

9-Free Re take opportunity?

Sometime APICS offer a free exam retake opportunity. If you have this opportunity then please immediately go for it because it will give you a real examination flavor with free of cost. In this case you can also prepare well for APICS examination in second time.
