It looks like Vince Gilligan's Breaking Bad movie will finally give Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) fans some much-needed closure after all.
A new report from The Hollywood Reporterindicates Jesse Pinkman will indeed be at the center of Gilligan's Breaking Bad movie, as expected. The film's plot was previously reported to be 'follow[ing] the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom,' which certainly sounds like a sequel focused on Aaron Paul's character. After all, the original series finale left a few open ends in Jesse's story, as he made a dramatic escape from Uncle Jack's white supremacist compound, but his fate from there was still unknown.
/stevie-wonder-as-mp3-download.html. On top of that news, THR also reports that the film will be available for streaming on Netflix before airing on the show's original home at AMC, which means fans won't need to head to the cineplex to see this movie.
Deadline reports that while the Breaking Bad movie is being developed as a feature film, there's a possibility it could be released in either film or episodic format.
When reached by TV Guide, AMC declined to comment on the reports. Netflix had not responded to TV Guide's request for comment at the time of publishing this story.
Gilligan has previously credited Netflix with helping turn Breaking Bad into a full-on cultural phenomenon; at the 2013 Emmy Awards, when the series took home its best drama Emmy, Gilligan said of the streaming service, 'I think Netflix kept us on the air.'
The Breaking Bad movie was first announced last November. The as-yet-untitled Breaking Bad movie will be the second expansion to the world of the hit show, after the AMC spin-off Better Call Saul. That prequel series has become a critical success in its own right as it tells the history of Saul Goodman, fka Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), before he became wrapped up in Walter White's messy meth syndicate.
Breaking Bad is available to stream on Netflix.
